On Friday 14th March our Year 6 pupils were treated to the rare privilege of a personal visit from Judge John Crosse who has recently retired from the Family Division Courts. With humour and many fascinating accounts of his life as a lawyer, Judge Crosse held the year 6 audience spellbound as he detailed how English Law functions in all its different ways, and how we might embark upon a career in law. We found out about all the different directions such a career might take us - as solicitor, barrister, government officer or in the Police Service - and what we might need to do to achieve our ambition. And for those who might be contemplating a career in the judiciary, there was even an opportunity to try His Honour's wig for size!
Judge Crosse's visit proved an unqualified success, and we would like to express our gratitude to him for finding the time to spend a most memorable afternoon with us.
