Early Years Foundation Stage (Pre-School & Reception)

Welcome to the Early Years at Exwick Heights Primary School, consisting of our Pre-School (for 3-4 year olds) and Reception (for 4-5 year olds).

Located within the beautiful grounds of the school site, the early years setting was purpose built for our youngest children and offers a safe, stimulating environment with indoor and outdoor spaces, where children can play, explore and develop their own ideas.

During a typical day, the children in early years engage in a balance of adult-led and child-initiated activities. They spend time in their dedicated classroom bases, as well as in shared areas. This provides opportunities for children from both year groups to participate in a wide range of activities across all curriculum areas, as well as offering opportunities for social interaction.

We are committed to ensuring our provision fully meets the statutory requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, providing a solid platform for children’s future learning and success, enabling them to achieve academic excellence and personal empowerment.
